"Democracy Denied: When Rights Exist but Awareness Doesn’t"

The great problem in India is that most of the people are unaware of their rights. The Constitution of India has provided us with some rights, which might be fundamental or legal rights. why do you think these rights are incorporated in the Indian Constitution or any other constitution in the world?
We, the people, have delegated power to the government through our votes, but to protect the dignity of the individual and create a condition in which every human being can develop their personality to the fullest, in the sense of attaining their full intellectual, moral, and spiritual status, these fundamental rights are not submitted to vote, they depend on outcome of no election. To provide these rights was the modern democratic thought (an indispensable condition of a free society) to protect the liberties of people against the encroachment of power, which was delegated to government by we people.
Among those rights, I believe that the right to free education is the most important one because, without education, how are people going to be aware of what their rights are and what they are not? But lately, education has become a business in India; only people with enough amount of money can afford a quality education. But the constitution promised us equal opportunities, right? Then why aren’t we getting world-class education in government schools? Millions of Indians die without knowing the rights that they had while they were living, and some people, even after knowing them, suffer because they don’t have the resources to enforce them.

Without education, the negation of these rights takes place, which keeps the moral and spiritual lives of individuals stunted and their potentialities undeveloped. So, due to the negation of these rights, we are losing many extraordinary minds that have the potential to do extraordinary jobs. These rights are so protected by the Constitution of India that they are not subject to any alteration of political controversy; we just have to educate people and provide them means to enforce their rights, such as free legal aid, and boom, we will be creating a free society with people with their full intellect.
These rights are a reminder to the government in power that certain liberties are assured to the people by the Constitution, and they are to be respected. The object of this is to establish “the government of the law and not the government of the man.”
