The betrayal of ‘Justice’ before trial

Here we are with another problem in our country. The problem we are going to discuss today is much grave in terms of attaining the justice. As we say judiciary is the last resort, and ray of hope in the eyes of people awaiting the justice, the problem herein is regarding investigation agencies. After hearing plenty of criminal cases one would realise that, these agencies tend to frame people, or to arrest some people who are not required to be arrested.
I am not disputing with one’s integrity but this situation is very peculiar, as in these people they take oath to abide by this country, and with little influence they tend to deviate from the said oath. The amount of impact that a person carrying out an investigation can have on the proceedings of the case is unimaginable, since these people have enforcement mechanism, access to alter with the useful findings, or suppress some of the findings that carry paramount importance in the case, and recording the report, statements, and panchnamas.
The legislature and judiciary has provided with many standards for carrying out the investigation, but it is shocking to hear the deliberate evasion of such standards and guidelines on regular basis by investigation agencies. The irony is that very few of these evasions come in the light and other evasions, they get so called ‘managed’ by these agencies. This management on part of them is reason behind the grave injustice to people suffering unnecessary custodial torture, and longer incarcerations despite not having any role in crime, just for the sake of saving people who actually committed the crime.
People often question the integrity of judiciary, as they are custodian of justice, but they are bound to make their judgement by appreciating available material on record. The material which is investigated by the investigation agencies. The light which these agencies can put for bringing the justice in ones life can only be achieved by accompanied integrity in their work, which seems to be lacking most of the times.
For greater good of this country, and to provide a man with a fair trial, it is very important to bring the integrity in the work of investigation. Which indeed will be the best form of patriotism.
